About The Carnival

I found so many interesting posts related to the fight against sexual violence in the blogosphere that I created the Carnival Against Sexual Violence in late May, 2006. Links to past editions are located in the sidebar.

The 97th edition is now up at Abyss2hope

The carnival comes out on the 1st and 15th of each month unless otherwise noted.

As a rape survivor who felt completely alone for many years before finally speaking out about what I went through, I wanted to provide a way for survivors and others who care about this problem to collect our stories and our thoughts. Together we can help those who can't speak about their ordeal to discover they aren't alone and they aren't without hope. We can also raise awareness about attitudes and practices that contribute to the number of assaults that occur every day.

Since this isn't a problem only for women and girls, posts by men are welcome.

The carnival is open to personal stories, creative expression (poetry, art, etc.), legal issues, media watch, raising awareness, solutions and more. You can now add this carnival to your carnival favorites.

Carnival Deadline Tonight

Tonight at 11 pm is the next deadline for the Carnival Against Sexual Violence so please take a few minutes and nominate a post you've written or a post you've read.

For anyone unfamiliar with blog carnivals, these are collections of blog posts on a variety of topics. You can browse the list of carnivals some of which are active and others which are not.

Together we can help reduce the acceptance of rape and the myths related to sexual violence which support rape and injustice against rape victims.

Blogathon July 28th

Say Rape logo

I will be participating in the Blogathon at Abyss2hope next weekend to help raise money for Stop It Now! an organization which works to prevent child sex abuse.

If anyone else is participating in the Blogathon to raise money for organizations which help fight or prevent sexual violence, please leave a comment with the relevant information. The deadline for the next carnival edition is the end of the day on the 29th so blogathon posts can be nominated for the Aug. 1 edition.
